panda bears have an additional 鈥榝inger鈥?it evolved over time (radial sesamoid). tetrapods all have five fingers and five toes, however the pandas 6th finger is realy a bone outgrowth, it was once thought to be an extra finger that was developed. however there are no hox genes realted to it. the hox clusters 1-4 are part of the limb development. I'm not aware of any for the 6th finger of pandas
