My hubby just put some security system on it something like Panda and I cant turn off the firewall to log into my im program.

You don't want it turned off, you just want it configured to allow that program to work.

Turning off a firewall is never a good solution.

Get him to open up the ports required for your IM program.

Where is says ''Firewall''....turn on/off

Just make sure you turn it back on if you go to another wireless network!

First of all, you should not need to turn off a firewall in order to use any instant messenging program.

Either the firewall is misconfigured or it was configured with the intent of blocking you. Either way the answer is NEVER to disable your firewall... it is to properly configure it.

If you have administrator privileges you should be able to right click on the panda icon or go into teh preferences via clicking on a shortcut and then configure the firewall to allow that program or that port of communication.
