It's a miracle that they have survived so long.

1. They eat only one thing, bamboo, which has almost zero nutritional value.

2. They are loners who require large amounts of near wilderness habitat.

3.. They almost never have sex (only fertile a few days) and only have one or two cubs.

They seem destined for extinction.

Sad, but true.
