I have a 2 brooches, dont know anything about them, wondered if anyone can help me with answers?

one is a really dark metal, a little panda with a moveable head, its a really dark metal, and very rough with stones in it, how do i find out what the metal is, and the other is a cameo, very dainty, but it has letters on the back, but they are very rubbed, they are either AOC or HDG maybe, any help would be gratefully accepted, thankyou.

Call in to a jeweller's store and ask to speak to someone who does understand about metals and stones, not just sales person. Ask if they would be so kind as to tell you what they possibly are. Most people are happy to help if you are polite and don't choose their busy time.

Don't forget to thank them for their kindness and time.
