The Giant Panda-a native of central China,is not a carnivore,as most bears are;although they will eat worms, grubs, bees honey, fruit seeds and roots,or even fish, such as salmon. The Giant panda-as opposed to the Red panda, also a non-carnivore-eats almost exclusively bamboo, which being low in vitamins and nutrients, requires the panda to eat for up to 15 hours a day. Most of its intake is discharged as ''panda-pellets''-or bear poo.Is fur which is as efficient as a polar bear`s in keeping it warm, does not thin much with age,but does go ''off-white'',or slightly brown. The panda has an extra `thumb`,that other bears lack-it is for splitting the canes to eat the fleshy inside, along with the leaves.Sadly there are now only a 1000 or so left in the wild.

Hope this helps.
