Can pups be born w out claws or "toes" on feet?

My Panda (female shih tzu) Just had four pups Yesterday. Everything went great. One of the males looks like he is missing the toes on his back right paw. We do plan to them all to the vet but for now was wondering if anyone has had this happened? Will the eventually grow in?

Sometimes at birth it is hard to see the "small" details. I would assume that once he grows it will be ok. And the vet couldn't do anything anyway at this point. Just leave him, let him nurse and grow then worry about it later. The buds are most likely there but too small to see. If he looks very different bilaterally or very different from other pups then he will be different when he matures. But I do assume he has something there just too small to see right now.

This did happen to 3 puppies in one of my litters. The will not grow in.
It's a birth defect, they will not grow in. If it doesn't affect the dog's quality of life, they'll be okay, just don't register them, or you'll run into trouble, should they be purebreds.
Most likely not. The pups toes were prob not formed when they were in the moms stomach. But with the pup being born without them he will grow up just fine not even noticing that hes different from the rest.
it may be a birth defect. I would reccommend this pup be neutered and sold as a pet. Make sure the people who get him are well aware of it, and you may want to consider a lower price for the pup because of it.
