Eating cats? are they crazy or what? why not eat pandas?

Some people in Guangdong province in China eat cats - I have personally kicked in the buttocks two guys I knew were taking a cat to be eaten and i have seen this in markets - my total question is why do the chinese protect pandas and eat cats? I would turn that around if I had a choice between the two

Hi Michael... the practice of eating cats and as well as dogs has been long around and unfortunately will continue. It not only happens in China, but also in Korea, Vietnam and many other Asian countries. Part of the reason is the overpopulation and lack of funding for animal control (e.g. spay/neuter, etc) so they control population by consumption. Famine also contributes to the problem additionally.

Don't be too judgemental on people of different countries and different races doing stuffs that they may have done throughout their lifes. No matter how inhumane or how unjust you feel, it's may just be a way of life or even survival to others. Live and let live. Respect others and their livelihood.
alot of countries eat cats and dogs..not only china (where they eat anything and everything) but the phillapines too..they fatten puppies up..then eat tham along with cats
they eat rats, monkey brains, hearts cut out of live snakes, live snakes, bugs.
